Ascendara 12.1: four new debrid services and a lighter app
Ascendara 12.1 adds Real-Debrid, AllDebrid, Premiumize and Debrid-Link next to TorBox, with a new Debrid page in Settings and a service picker for each download. It also uses less CPU while idle, adds a Reduce Effects option and keeps your API keys in your system's keychain.
Ascendara 12.1 is mostly about debrid. TorBox is no longer the only option: Real-Debrid, AllDebrid, Premiumize and Debrid-Link now work too, and you can use more than one at the same time. The app also got lighter on your PC, with less work in the background and a new way to turn off heavy effects.
Four new debrid services
You can now connect Real-Debrid, AllDebrid, Premiumize and Debrid-Link alongside TorBox. Each one handles both direct links from supported hosts and torrents. When a cloud torrent finishes, Ascendara downloads and extracts it like any other game.
- Real-Debrid: sign in with a short code on real-debrid.com instead of pasting a private token. Your sign-in renews itself
- AllDebrid: sign in with a PIN
- Premiumize: see how much of your fair use you have left
- Debrid-Link: hosts that are offline are skipped automatically
- TorBox keeps working as before, and stays turned on after you update
A Debrid page in Settings
Debrid now has its own page in Settings. The main toggle is at the top, followed by the priority order, which decides which service Ascendara tries first. You can pause a service without signing out, and each one links to its own guide in the docs.
Downloads from every service now share one page, with a picker to switch between them. It lists torrents that are still being prepared, and you can choose to remove finished torrents from AllDebrid, Premiumize and Debrid-Link. Torrents that haven't made progress in 3 days are no longer waited on.
Pick a service for one download
The download panel has a new service picker. Leave it on Default to follow your priority order, pick a specific service, or choose No debrid. The choice only applies to that download and never changes your saved order. If the service you picked can't handle that link, Ascendara tells you before you start.
A lighter app
Ascendara uses less CPU while it sits in the background, and it starts faster. Covers load more quickly, download folders are read at the same time, and the achievement watcher starts after the app is on screen.
The new Motion & Effects section in Settings has a Reduce Effects toggle. It turns off blur, page transitions and looping animations, and stops the home carousel from scrolling by itself. It's useful on lower-end PCs or while you're playing.
- The navigation bar can shrink to colored dots while you scroll. You can turn this off in Settings
- Optional pages slide in and out of the navigation bar when you turn them on or off
- A redesigned highlighted game card in Search
Safer API keys
Saved API keys are now stored in your system's keychain on Windows, macOS and Linux where it's available. Your existing keys move over automatically, and keys are no longer copied into recovery points.
