3. Authentication & Firebase

Ascend uses Firebase (a Google service) for authentication. By using Ascend, you acknowledge that:

  • Your authentication credentials are handled by Firebase according to Firebase's Privacy Policy.
  • tagoWorks does not store your passwords or authentication tokens directly.
  • Firebase may collect certain data as part of their authentication service.

4. Data Collected by Ascend

To provide Ascend features, we may collect and store:

Account Information

  • User ID: A unique identifier for your account.
  • Display Name: Your chosen username for the friends and chat features.
  • Subscription Status: Whether you're on a trial or active subscription.
  • Hardware ID: A unique identifier generated from your PC's hardware, stored upon account creation to prevent account abuse.

Social Features

  • Friends List: Connections you've made with other Ascend users.
  • Chat Messages: Messages sent through the Ascend chat feature.

Gaming Statistics

  • Game Activity: Information about games in your library for stat viewing.
  • Auto-Update Preferences: Your settings for automatic game updates.

5. How Data is Used

Data collected by Ascend is used exclusively to:

  • Provide and maintain Ascend features (friends, chat, stats, auto-updates).
  • Manage your subscription and trial status.
  • Improve the Ascend service during early development.

Your data is never sold, shared, or used for advertising purposes.

6. Data Storage and Security

  • Ascend data is stored securely using Firebase infrastructure.

  • As Ascend is in early development, security measures are continuously being improved.

7. Data Retention

  • Your Ascend data is retained as long as you have an active account.
  • If you cancel your subscription, your data may be retained for a reasonable period.
  • Chat messages and friend connections may be deleted if you delete your account.

8. Third-Party Services

Ascend relies on Firebase for authentication and data storage. While tagoWorks does not share your data with third parties:

  • Firebase (Google) processes authentication and may store data according to their policies.
  • tagoWorks is not responsible for Firebase's data handling practices.

9. Limitation of Responsibility

tagoWorks is not responsible for:

  • Data breaches or security incidents originating from Firebase services.
  • Loss of data due to service interruptions during early development.
  • Any issues arising from third-party authentication services.
  • Content shared between users through chat or social features.

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Ascend develops. Users are encouraged to review it periodically. By continuing to use Ascend, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy even if the policy is modified in the future.
