Ascendara Version History
Track all updates and improvements to the official Ascendara application. Major updates introduce significant new features, while patch updates include improvements and fixes to keep the app running smoothly.
The changelog is organized into "Waves" - groups of 10 versions that showcase the application's progression over time. Each Wave contains the complete history of additions, improvements, fixes, and changes from all included versions. The Individual Updates view provides access to specific version details and changes.

Wave 7: Nova
Introduces achievement tracking with the new Achievement Watcher, letting you monitor and view in-game achievements. Streamlines onboarding with automatic setup of Vulkan, DXVK, and WineBottler for macOS, making it easier to get started. Adds a Soundtrack tab with an in-app miniplayer so you can listen to and download game music directly. Enhances library management with mass Steam import, pagination, and advanced filtering and multi-selection tools. Features a revamped download manager for faster, more reliable downloads, improved analytics for better insights, and a new Components overview in Preferences to manage sidecars and dependencies.
Wave 6: Nebula
Closer to cross-platform support with Wine and Wine-tricks for Linux/Mac, introduces new download options, and expands customization via custom profile images and multiple download directories. Enhances security with encrypted sensitive keys and safeguards for the leveling system. Adds IGDB and GiantBomb metadata support, local custom user profiles, detailed download history, and a dedicated play-game screen. Improves UI clarity, error handling, and directory management, while resolving numerous issues including Discord RPC errors, folder sanitization, and download process reliability.
Wave 5: Pulsar
Comprehensive game management revolution with backup and restore functionality for game saves, automatic backup options, and robust file verification systems. Introduces game ratings visible in Search, play time tracking, and specialized notices for Online-fix games. Features Steam Workshop Downloader, fullscreen toggle, download speed history charts, storage usage visualization, and backup server integration for game lists. Enhances user experience with smooth page transitions, desktop notifications, and system integrity checks for broken versions.
Wave 4: Comet
Expanded download capabilities with experimental qBittorrent integration, Fitgirl repack support via Hydralibrary, and the revolutionary Ascendara Timemachine for accessing older game versions. Introduces support for 96 additional languages including Italian, French, and German, enhanced UI with side scroll bar options and keyboard navigation shortcuts, and improved user guidance with icon legends and VR game warnings. Features smoother page transitions with per-route AnimatePresence and improved security with text sanitization.
Wave 3: Orbit
Enhanced user experience with available space indicators, username customization for Goldberg cracks, and comprehensive feedback systems including context menus and support dialogs. Features improved game management with launch tracking, sharing functionality, and memory cache optimization. Introduces a new Dependencies system with status indicators, registry checking for Windows, and specialized notices for VR games and emulator requirements. Includes React optimization with babel-plugin-react-compiler and custom menu bar buttons.
Wave 2: Eclipse
Major infrastructure upgrade featuring a high-performance CDN server with token-based downloads and enhanced network resilience via Netlify. Introduces smart Viewport Observation for dynamic loading, intelligent preloading, and a new image compression pipeline with progressive loading support. Includes the Ascendara Download Handler for Chrome/Firefox, advanced game management with favorites, thread management, automatic backups, file verification, and real-time performance monitoring.
Wave 1: Genesis
The complete revamp of Ascendara featuring a brand new modern UI with improved layouts, advanced theming system with 12 color schemes, and enhanced cross-component functionality. Introduces secure file management with verification, sequential directory cleanup, game launch error protection, and support for 8 new languages. Includes background download status notifications, recently played games tracking, and a fully implemented auto-update system with timestamp tracking.
